How It Began
The Story Behind the Mission
Krystal Patterson
Founder
Mercy Haven Network began with a table.
Throughout Krystal Patterson's life, compassion was modeled by women who welcomed neighbors, friends, and strangers alike with a meal, a listening ear, and a place where burdens felt lighter. What began as an example witnessed in childhood grew into a lifelong calling to serve others with dignity and grace.
Over the years, that calling became deeply personal: opening a home to a man who carried his luggage to work each day because he had nowhere safe to leave it; helping a woman regain a sense of dignity through access to a shower and clean clothing during a difficult season of life; and witnessing a five-year-old child, without being asked, purchase snacks for a man experiencing homelessness.
These moments revealed a simple truth: people often need more than resources — they need to be seen, valued, and treated with compassion.
Mercy Haven Network is the organized expression of that conviction: a place where grace, structure, and dignity come together to provide stability, restore hope, and create pathways forward.

Krystal Patterson
Founder & Executive Director
Krystal Patterson is the Founder and Executive Director of Mercy Haven Network. Inspired by a lifelong conviction that every person deserves dignity, grace, and the opportunity to move forward, she founded Mercy Haven to serve as a bridge between crisis and stability. Her experiences serving individuals facing homelessness and hardship reinforced her belief that meaningful change begins with meeting immediate needs while restoring hope and human dignity. Through Mercy Haven Network, Krystal is committed to creating a place where compassion is paired with practical support, empowering individuals to take their next steps toward a brighter future.
